WRC
USER REGISTRATION: WRS
will begin accepting registrations for 2003-2004 facility user privileges
on Aug. 18. Individual registration is $140 for Sept. 1, 2003-Aug.
31. Registration provides access to WRC facilities, as well as Health

LIBRARY
AND INTERNET RESOURCES: The
new gateway to library and internet resources (http://www.library.uni.edu/gateway/)
was made public on Monday, August 4. It supersedes the Resources section
of the library's Web site and is accessible from several links on
the library's homepage (http://www.library.uni.edu/).

fiscal year 2004 UNI/Office Depot catalogs are in the mail. Included
with these special discount catalogs is a six-page core supply list
with greater discounts. Use these two price sheets and save your department

WEBCT
WORKSHOPS FOR FACULTY:
ITS-Educational Technology is offering free WebCT workshops for faculty
Aug. 18-20 from 8:30 a.m. until noon. These classes are for faculty
who need a refresher on how to use WebCT, who want to see the new
features of 3.8, or for those who have never used WebCT. WebCT is
an environment that allows faculty to create online courseware as
a supplement to an existing face-to-face course, or helps you create

CONSTRUCTION
NOTICE: Missouri
Street Reconstruction:Beginning Monday Aug. 18, Missouri Street between
the Gilchrist G parking lot and Latham Hall will be closed for reconstruction.The
anticipated time to complete this work is three to four weeks. The
Gilchrist G lot and the Latham metered lot will be closed during construction.
When completed, Missouri Street will terminate in a cul-de-sac on
the south side of McCollum Science Hall. Contact Facilities Planning
3-2611, with any questions.

TAG
SALE: On
Thursday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., UNI will have a tag sale
at the UNI warehouse, 2412 West 27th St. -- west of the UNI-Dome.
A large variety of chairs and seating units will be available, as
well as desks, files, podiums, and a few bicycles. All items are specifically
priced for sale. All items are sold "as is" and must be
removed by 4 p.m. on Thursday. All items must be paid for in cash
(good check) on site before removal. Please call Vince at 3-3527 with

are considering making some adjustments to UNI Online -- specifically
to the "Events" section. Currently the information is listed
in date order. Would it be helpful to organize the information by

NAME
UPDATE FOR PUBLIC SAFETY:
As of July 1, the UNI Department of Public Safety has two divisions:
the Police Division and the Parking Division. The overall department
mission does not change. This name change is similar to changes made
last year at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.

NEW
AND IMPROVED MAUCKER UNION: On
Aug. 22, Maucker Union will re-open for business. Chats, the new coffee
bar, opens at 7 a.m. The Coffee House, Hemisphere Lounge, new and
renovated meeting rooms, and the administrative offices for Maucker
Union will also be open. Temporary food service will be in Old Central
Ballroom C (formerly the Expansion) beginning on Aug. 25. For more

CELEBRATE
THE LOCAL HARVEST: The
Buy Fresh, Buy Local campaign, sponsored by the CEEE, is hosting a
special event to celebrate the peak of harvest season on Saturday,
Aug. 16, at Overman Park in downtown Cedar Falls. A picnic dinner
made with locally-grown ingredients can be purchased for $5, or bring
your own. Ann Zimmerman will be featured at the Band Shell at 7 p.m.

MEETING: The
opening faculty meeting will be Monday Aug. 25 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.
in Strayer-Wood Theatre. Refreshments from 3 - 3:30 and at 4:45 in

VS. ISU TAILGATE: The
UNI Alumni Association will host a tailgate prior to the UNI vs. ISU
game in Ames Aug. 30th. All alumni and friends are welcome! Cost is
$8 for association members or children 12 and under. $10 for non-members.
The tailgate is from 4-5:30 p.m. Kick-off is 6 p.m.Call 3-2355 for

UNI INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FAIR will
take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Maucker
Union Old Central A & B. This annual event is an opportunity for
UNI students, faculty and staff to learn about overseas study, internships,
volunteer and work options. UNI program providers and campus-based
international organizations/groups wishing to exhibit at the fair
