Departments or individuals contemplating PC purchases should consider
the Dell desktop configuration and pricing that has been selected
for the ITS Student Computer Centers purchase this year. This base

McCOLLUM ELEVATOR OUT: The
elevator serving MSH will be out of service for approximately two

MEMFIS UPGRADE: The MEMFIS
system will undergo an upgrade on Friday, May 2. Users will not have
access to the system from noon Friday until the beginning of business
on Tuesday, May 6. During the process MEMFIS reports will be available,
reflecting data entered prior to close of business on Thursday, May

HAZARDOUS WASTE PICK-UP DATE:
The end of the semester hazardous waste disposal will be May 19. All
hazardous waste must be labeled and boxed appropriately prior to transporting.
If you are a new generator and need assistance with labeling, call

TOWERS AUCTION: On May 14 at
10 a.m. an auction of kitchen and dining room equipment and furniture
will take place in the Tower Dining Center. There will also be approximately

NELSON NAMED MVC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Senior Nikki Nelson not only placed in two events at this year's Drake
Relays, but the senior sprinter won the 400-meter hurdles in a time
of 58.64, the fastest time in the MVC and the second fastest time
in Panther history.

MEN'S GOLF: The Panther men's
golf team finished fifth in the MVC Golf Tournament. Mike Lewis finished
second in the tournament (213), one stroke behind champion Ty Cline
of Wichita State. UNI was just eight strokes out of a tie for third
with a score of 890.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Coach Greg
McDermott has announced the signing of his final player for this coming
season. Atila Santos (pronounced ah-cha-la), a 6-9, 210-pound freshman
forward/center, will join the Panther squad this fall. From Brazil,
he plays for the Centro De Estudos Supletivos Othon Barroso De Carvalho
Macae club team in Rio De Janeiro.

UNION AUCTION: UNI has scheduled
an auction on May 9 at 10 a.m. in the Maucker Union. The items for
sale include butcher block tables with accompanying chairs and wood/upholstered
chairs and couches from the Union lounges. Some office furniture such
as desks, chairs, file & storage cabinets, and plastic stack chairs,
are also available. All items sold "as is" and must be removed the
day of sale. All items must be paid for in cash (good check) before

and Yvonne Koob cordially invite all faculty and staff, and their

REINSTATEMENT OF FACULTY SPRING RESERVE LIST:
The deadline for reinstating spring 2003 course reserves for the May/Summer
2003 semester is May 9. New reserve lists for fall semester should

The Strategic Planning Review Committee has been discussing the beneficial
feedback it has received to date, and is making further potential
modifications to the UNI Strategic Plan. Check out the new potential

Please send comments on the potential changes to the current plan,
and the additional revisions that have been added, by May 5, using
