PC ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE: If you still have Command Anti-Virus
installed on your computer, please contact your computer liaison
or call ITS at x35555 and ask for a work order to have it replaced
with Norton. You can tell by looking at the system tray in the
lower right corner of your Windows desktop (the far right of the
task bar). Command has an icon that looks like a yellow "C" while
Norton's icon is a shield.

REMEMBER HEALTHBEAT: Located in the East Gym basement, HealthBeat
has the same cardio and weight equipment as the WRC. Hours for
HealthBeat are from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Shower and locker
facilities are available.

MEMFIS TRAINING: Student employees who will be accessing the MEMFIS
system for their jobs must be added to the position hierarchy before
they can get their passwords. To add a student employee to the
hierarchy, go to

and complete a MEMFIS Authorization for Access.

FALL 2002 MASSAGE SCHEDULE: Massages will be offered in the Wellness
Resource Lab, WRC Room 104, on Wednesdays from 11-5 and Thursdays
from 11-4 during the fall semester. The cost is $10 for 15 minutes.
Sessions up to an hour may be purchased. Pay by cash, check, u-bill,
or payroll deduct. Gift certificates available as well. Call

MAIL OPERATIONS: Chris Kula, Director/Cenral Mail, University of
Iowa, will be on campus Wednesday, Sept. 11 to answer questions
and address concerns from 9-11 a.m. in Maucker Union, Expansion
Room A. Everyone who works regularly with first class and bulk mail is
welcome to attend.

STUDENT E-MAIL ACCOUNTS TO BE REMOVED: UNI E-mail accounts for
students who are not registered for the fall semester are disabled,
archived to tape, and removed from the server after the end of the
third week of classes. This year, that process will begin on
Monday, Sept. 16.

YADAVA MEMORIAL: An on-campus memorial service will honor Dr.
Surendar Yadava on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 4:00 p.m. in the Great
Reading Room of Seerley Hall. Dr. Yadava, Associate Professor of
Sociology, joined the UNI faculty in 1989. He died Friday morning,
Aug. 23, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY RE-ACCREDITATION:The visiting team from
the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT) has recommended
full re- accreditation for four of UNI's academic programs in Industrial Technology:
Construction Management, Graphic Communications, Manufacturing Technology,
and Technology Management. The final decision is expected in November.
The NAIT visiting team recommendation highlighted the national quality of
the UNI Department of Industrial Technology programs.

COLLEGIATE ENTREPRENEURS ORGANIZATION MEETING: A CEO meeting will
take place Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m. in CBB, Room 3, for anyone interested
in entrepreneurship and small business. CEO will have guest speakers

QUICK BOOKS PRO TRAINING: The UNI Regional Business Center
will offer Quick Books Pro Training to the general public on Tuesdays,
9 am-noon, from Sept. 10 - Oct. 1. The first session on Sept. 10 is an optional,
introductory session for those new to the software or in need of a refresher.
Classes take place at 212 E. 4th St., Waterloo. The fee for the course is $149

LELAND WILSON BANQUET/LECTURE: The Dept. of Chemistry is sponsoring
the 6th Annual Leland Wilson Banquet and Lecture honoring the first
Chemistry Dept. Head on Sept. 26. The dinner will be at the Broom
Factory at 6:pm and the lecture is in Seerley Hall, room 115 at
8:00pm. The featured speaker is Dr. Becky Lewis, a UNI Chem grad.
and in her 22nd yr with E. I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. She will speak
