NEW
SUPPLY VENDOR FOR 2002:
UNI Campus supply has entered into a discounted purchasing agreement
with Office Depot effective July 1, 2002. All orders for office supplies
from Campus Supply (except for some special order items)
will utilize Office Depot. This new partnership will help keep product
prices lower. The discount program has many benefits, specifically:
Contract/Hot List a list of frequently purchased
items with specially negotiated pricing. A catalog of these items
plus specially discounted catalog items will be available for distribution
to users about August 1.
Requests to Campus Supply All requisitions received from departments
at Campus Supply will be ordered same day with delivery
next day. Distribution will be daily to user departments.
Discounted prices are already in effect, so be sure to check it out!

WRC REGISTRATION:
WRS will begin accepting registrations for Facility User Privileges
on August 15, effective from September 1, 2002 -; August 31, 2003
at an individual cost of $140.00. Registration provides access to
Wellness/Recreation Center facilities as well as to the Easy Gym Pool
and fitness area (Health Beat). Register on-line at http://

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
The MPDC will host "Creative Problem Solving: Thinking Outside
the Box" on Friday, August 2 and again on Tuesday, September
10 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in rooms 1-3 of CBB. UNI employees are
given a discounted fee of $132, which includes participant materials,

ONLINE CHAT REFERENCE TEST:
Rod Library is pilot testing a chat service to assist UNI students,
faculty, and staff while they are conducting online research. Clicking

will connect users to a reference librarian. Hours are 2 to 4 p.m.,
Monday - Friday.

GOOD
CLEAN FUN:
Saturday, August 3, at the Marshall Center School. Presented by Matt
Nelson, this is the last in a series of programs focusing on different
aspects of rural Iowa life in and around one-room schools. As part
of the UNI Museums, the MarshallCenter School has been refurbished
to represent the schoolhouse in 1922. The schoolhouse will be open
to the public from 1:30 - 3:30, with the program beginning at 2:00.

MERCK/AAAS SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE
RESEARCH MEETING: Students in the College of Natural
Sciences will report on their summer research projects at a poster
session from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, in the Great Reading
Room, Seerley 116. The meeting is sponsored by a grant from Merck/American
Association for the Advancement of Science Undergraduate Science Research
Program. The meeting is open to the public and free of charge.
