RE-INSTATEMENT OF FACULTY SUMMER RESERVE LIST:The deadline for
reinstating Summer 2002 course reserves for the Fall 2002 semester

GATEWAY SPECIAL PRICING: Gateway 2000 has been awarded the desktop
purchase in response to the ITS SCC (Student Computer Center)
competitive bid process.
This configuration is also available for purchase by any other
department and any student/faculty/staff member until August 15,
at the same pricing. See

including a spreadsheet that can be utilized for configuration.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES: Visit the Office of Intellectual Properties
(OIP) new Web site at http://www.grad.uni.edu/ip. This site contains
a wealth of information dealing with the various committees, patents, copyrights, trademarks, and many more issues that the OIP deals with
for UNI. Please contact Michaela Rich (3-3689)with questions and/or suggestions.

MASSAGE: Due to the popularity of summer massages, two additional
dates have been added to the schedule in the Wellness Resource Lab.
Tuesday, July 30 and Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 11:00 to 4:00 each day.
The cost is $10 for 15 minutes. Sessions up to one hour may be
purchased. Pay by cash, check, u-bill, or payroll deduct. Call
3-6119 to schedule.

NEWS 

CONFERENCE OFFICES MERGE: The Conferences and Visitor Services
Office and the Continuing Education Non-Credit Programs Office
have merged effective July 1. The merged office is part of the
Division of Continuing Education and is located in the current
CVS Office at the corner of 27th St. and Hudson Rd. Anyone
interested in conference services or in bringing guests to campus
should call Duane McDonald at 3-6899.

LIBRARY NOTICE: Full-time tenured or tenure-track instructional
faculty members who wish to apply for study rooms in the Library
for Fall Semester should do so by Friday, July 26. Application
forms are available in the Library's main office. For more
information, call Paulette Courtney at 3-2737.

FACILITIES PLANNING PHONE CHANGES: Effective immediately, Facilities
Planning will only have one receptionist answering the phones for all
three offices. The numbers 3-6181 and 3-6126 will now roll to the
number in Facilities Planning West, located in the Physical Plant.
The main number for all three locations is 273-2611. If you have
any questions or concerns, contact Douglas Van Camp at 3-6835 or

DOR AUCTION: Wednesday, July 17, 10 a.m., in the parking lot between
Noehren Hall and Hudson Road, the DOR will auction off the following:
chairs, desks, kitchen equipment, office furnishings and office
equipment. A complete list of offerings plus photos are on the Web at

If you know of a local school, church or camp that needs furniture
or kitchen supplies, please tell them about this auction.

NEW LIBRARY DEAN: Marilyn Mercado has been appointed dean of Library
Services, effective July 1. Mercado had served as interim dean
following the retirement of Herb Safford.

UNI RESEARCHERS ALERT: Beginning July 1, UNI faculty, staff and
students conducting research with human participants (nee subjects)
MUST use a revised application and consent form. Forms and updated

EVENTS 

INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FAIR: Plan to attend the UNI
International Opportunities Fair on Wednesday, September 25, from 11
to 3 in Expansions A-B, Maucker University Union. This annual event is
an opportunity for UNI students, faculty and staff to learn about the
considerable variety of overseas study, internships, volunteer, and work
options available. For more information about the fair, please visit

SUMMER ART EXHIBITS: The UNI Gallery of Art presents two summer
exhibitions: "ALCHEMY: From Common Materials To Extraordinary
Objects," an invitational exhibition of jewelry and small sculpture
and "The UNI Permanent Collection: Works from the Koob Residence."
The exhibitions run through August 4 and are free and open to the
public.
