PROCUREMENT CARD REMINDER:
Employees who have procurement cards must notify the Controller's
Office when changing departments. Also, notify Short's Travel when
changing departments if your procurement card number is on file with
them. Procurement cards of people leaving the university should be

CAMPUS ADVISORY GROUP:
The UNI Faculty Senate endorsed the creation of a Campus Advisory
Group at its Jan. 28 meeting. The purpose of the group is to consult
with the university president and provide advice on broad campus issues;
and to encourage and facilitate communication and coordination among
the various constituencies at UNI. The president will chair the group,
which will meet at least once each fall and spring. The first meeting
of the Campus Advisory Group will be March 15. Individuals with topics
or items for discussion by this group should contact their appropriate
representative. If you have any questions, contact the Office of the

MAUCKER UNION CLOSED DUE TO ELECTRICAL
SHUTDOWN: Maucker Union will be closed on Tues., March
19 due to an electrical and steam shutdown. The entire building including
all food service areas will be closed. If you have any questions,
contact the Reservations Desk at 3-2256.

ROY J. CARVER SCHOLARSHIP: 15-20
new recipients will be selected to receive $3,800 for the 2002-03
academic year. Selection is based on: Junior standing by fall 2002;
minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA; U.S. citizen; graduated from an accredited
Iowa high school or have been a resident of Iowa for at least five
consecutive years prior to application; demonstrate financial need
by filing 2002-03 FAFSA; unusual social and/or other barriers to attending
college full-time. Applications, due by April 1, are availabe at:

SPRING COMMENCEMENT UPDATE:
Because the UNI-Dome will be under construction in May, spring commencement

UNI-DOME UPDATE: The UNI-Dome
will close from Mar. 18 to Aug. 16 for internal structural repairs.
This is phase II of a process that began last year. In 2001, the UNI-Dome
was closed from March through August for structural work. While no
events will be held in the Dome this spring and summer, staff housed
in the UNI-Dome will be able to continue to use their offices. It's
expected that the UNI-Dome will be open for the first football game
in the fall, and we plan to be able to schedule events inside the
UNI-Dome as usual for spring and summer 2003. For more information,

STUDENT TIME SHEET CUT-OFF:
The cut-off for student time sheets is March 14. Departments need
to forward approved student federal work study time sheets to Financial
Aid/Student Employment and departmental employment time sheets to
the PayrollOffice before spring break. Time sheets are by noon, Mon.,
March 18.

MATHEMATICS OF JUGGLING:
Peter Floodstrand Blanchard, the current and two-time International
Jugglers Association Ball Juggling Champion and 7-time Nine Ball Qualifier,
will speak on The Mathematics of Juggling. The ancient art of juggling
was recently revolutionized by the introduction of a system of notation
and an elegant mathematical theory. These new ideas will be explained
and demonstrated on Wednesday, March 27, at 3:00 p.m. in Sabin 102.
