UNI IN THE NEWS: The Cedar Rapids Gazette ran a two-part feature on performing arts centers in Eastern Iowa. The GBPAC was profiled on their front page.

AUCTION: UNI's next auction is scheduled for Tues., Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at 2412 West 27th St. A large variety of miscellanious furniture and equipment will be sold including desks, chairs, computer equipment, files, cabinets, fluorescent ceiling lights, Sony color cameras, numerous bikes, projectors, vehicle parts, stereo equipment and more. All items are sold "as is" and must be removed the day of the sale. All items must be paid for in cash (good check) at the site before removal. A photo ID will be required to obtain a bidding number.

UNI VOLLEYBALL IN SWEET SIXTEEN: UNI Volleyball defeated Minnesota 3-2 Saturday to advance to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Sweet Sixteen. They will play this Thursday night in California against Long Beach State at 9 p.m. (Central time).

STUDENT GRADE SHEETS NO LONGER BEING MAILED: Commencing with the Fall 2001 semester, printed grade reports will no longer be mailed to students. Please refer to http://www.uni.edu/regist/gradesfa.htm for information about accessing and printing grade reports. Students who need a printed copy and do not have Web access may request a copy by calling the Office of the Registrar at 3-2241.

EVENTS

COMPLIANCE ASSISTANCE WORKSHOP: An Environmental and Safety Compliance Assistance Workshop will be held at the UNI Regional Business Center, Thurs., Dec 6, 8 a.m. - noon. The workshop will cover hazardous and solid waste regulations, air emissions regulations, pollution prevention techniques, and more. The workshop is confidential and non-regulatory and will be held at 212 E. 4th St., Waterloo. The cost is $15. Registration is necessary. PLANT SALE: Conservation Club Plant Sale will be held in Mauker Union from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thurs., Dec 6th. There will be a wide variety of plants, from herbs to succlents as well as water plants. The prices range from $2-4 and will make excellent christmas gifts.

SCREENING OF "MY HEART IS MY WITNESS": The Women's Studies Program invites everyone to view this video on women in Islam. The one-hour video will be shown twice in Baker 161: Thurs., Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. and Fri., Dec. 7 at noon. This screening is made possible through the generosity of "Women Make Movies," a video distribution company in New York, which hopes to enhance understanding of Islam on US campuses in the wake of September 11. NCAA PLAYOFF GAME IN THE UNI-DOME: After a win at Eastern Illinois, UNI Football will host the University of Maine in an NCAA Division I-AA second round playoff game Saturday in the UNI-Dome. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 3-DOME or visiting the UNI athletic ticket office.

"THE TALE OF THE RED DRAGON": UNIfy, Theatre UNI's performance outreach team, will present "The Tale of the Red Dragon," Dec. 7-8 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Bertha Martin Theatre. Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults and may be purchased by calling 3-6381.

"2001 MA/BFA ART EXHIBITION": The UNI Gallery of Art will present work by MA artists, Patricia J. Smith and Alexandra Dooley, and BFA artists, Erin Hoffman and Jill Ann Zevenbergen. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT CLOTHING SALE: There will be an Athletic Dept. used clothing sale Thurs., Dec. 13, from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on the South Concourse in the UNI-Dome. The sale will include: warm-ups, uniforms, shoes, sweats, t-shirts and shorts. Items will be pre-priced and sold "as is" and must be removed the same day of the sale; all items must be paid in cash (checks accepted) at site before removal.
