SMART START CLASSES: Do
you have a business idea? Our Smart Start class can help you make it
a reality. Classes are held every week on alternating Tuesdays at 12
p.m. and Thursdays at 3 p.m. This free, one-hour class covers the information
you need to know start a business. Classes are held at the UNI Regional

UNI
TO HOST NCAA VOLLEYBALL:
UNI has been selected to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA
Volleyball Championships this Friday and Saturday in the West Gym.
On Friday, UNI will face Northern Illinois at 5:30pm followed by Minnesota
vs. DePaul at 7:30pm. On Saturday, the winners will play at 6:00 pm.
Tickets for all three matches are $13 (adult) and $9 (student/youth/senior)
and are available at the UNI ticket office 3-DOME.

UNI-CUE HAS MOVED: UNI
Center for Urban Education has moved to 800 Sycamore Street, Waterloo,
50703-4730. The UNI directory includes the new address, but NOT the
new mail code. Please change your directories to 4730. UNI-CUE includes
the following programs: Educational Opportunity Center, Educational
Talent Search, Upward Bound, and the Upward Bound Math and Science.

LAST CHANCE FLU SHOTS:
The UNI Student Health Clinic will be offering one last flu shot clinic
on Mon., Dec. 3 in Expansion A of Maucker Union from 1 to 3 p.m. or
until supplies last. Cost is $11 cash, check, u-bill or payroll deduct.
Open to students, faculty, staff, and spouses.

PANTHER NCAA TICKETS AVAILABLE:
Tickets for the Panther's NCAA first round football game at Eastern
Illinois can be purchased at the UNI-Dome ticket office or by calling
3-DOME starting today. Adult tickets are $11, youth $5. Also UNI @
Iowa State MBB tickets are available at the UNI-Dome Ticket Office.
Ticket price is $20 for everyone.

TRAVEL WITH PANTHER FOOTBALL:
UNI Football travels to Eastern Illinois this Saturday for the first
round of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs. Kickoff is 12:30 p.m. Plans
are being finalized to provide transportation for fans to Charleston,

TRAVEL WITH UNI WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:
Travel to cheer on Panther Women's Basketball, Wed., Nov. 28, as they
take on the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The $25 per person
cost includes a seat on the bus, ticket and more. The bus will leave
at 1:15 p.m. from UNI and will return to Cedar Falls after the game.

The cookbook is filled with recipe ideas contributed by AEOP members.
The cost of the cookbook is $10 and proceeds are used towards scholarships

SUMMER ORIENTATION STAFF APPLICATIONS:
Applications are available for students interested in serving on the
2002 Summer Orientation Staff (SOS). Compensation includes $2,000
and room and board from May 19-July 9, 2002. This is an excellent
opportunity for students to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for
UNI. Please encourage interested students to apply. Applications are
available until Nov. 28 at the Union Information Desk, the Office
of Admissions, and online. Application deadline is Thur. Nov. 29.

President Koob will speak to all merit staff regarding budget
issues and the effect on UNI. The meeting will be held Tues., Nov.

CREDIT: HOW TO GET IT, MANAGE IT
& FIX IT: Thurs., Nov. 29, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., CBB, rooms
1 & 3. Alan Jessen of Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Northeast
Iowa will cover information about getting and managing credit and
how to fix a personal debt situation. Handouts and resources will
be available. Much of the information presented here is part of a
fee-based service offered by Consumer Credit Counseling, but you will
get this information for FREE. No advanced registration is required
and the presentation is free to all UNI students, staff and faculty.

UNI SUZUKI PLAYATHON:
UNI Suzuki School will hold a playathon at College Square Mall Sat.,
Dec. 1 from 1-4:30 p.m. This fund raiser will feature ensemble performances
by students ages 3 to 18 on violin, viola, cello and flute. A performance
by the school's violin special performance group Fiddlesticks and
the parent orchestra will end the event. Students will gather pledges
from family and friends to raise money for a new computer and other

IOWA SPACE GRANT CONSORTIUM HOLDS
ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Recipients of consortium research grants
will report on their projects at the annual meeting of the NASA-sponsored
group on Dec. 7 at Iowa Valley Community College in Marshalltown.
The International Space Station will be the subject of the invited
speaker. UNI is one of the founding members of the consortium. For

CELEBRATING THE SEASON:
The Student Life Team and the Maucker Union are collaborating with
community representatives to bring a program to UNI that is lively,
educational and entertaining. "Celebrating the Season", a new and
inclusive holiday program will explore and highlight a number of major
cultural celebrations which take place during the winter season. The
traditional treelighting ceremony has been enhanced to reflect the
changing and diverse campus community of UNI. The program is scheduled
for Thurs., Dec. 13, beginning at 7 p.m. with a formal program, then
followed by a number of interactive activities. For more information,
