REQUEST FOR EXTERNAL FUNDS:
To ensure that requests to funding agencies have been coordinated through
the UNI Foundation, an REF form has been developed. Faculty and staff
are required to submit this completed form to the Foundation before
submitting a proposal to a funding agency. The form is available to

AFSCME CHANGE: Human Resources
Director Nick Bambach will be conducting briefings regarding changes
to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement that went into effect
July 1 for a two year period. Individuals who supervisor AFSCME employees
and interpret the contracts are invited to attend. Briefings will be
held 9 a.m., Tues., Sept. 25 and Thurs., Sept. 27 in GIL 207. The briefings
will last 30-45 minutes. New bargaining agreement booklets will be at

BLOOD DRIVE: The American
Red Cross has been overrun with donors. If you wish to donate blood
this week, call ahead for an appointment: (319) 234-6831. The annual
UNI/American Red Cross blood drive will take place as scheduled from
9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tues., Sept. 18, in the Maucker Union Expansion. The
9-10 a.m. hour has been reserved for faculty and staff.

UNI SATURDAY CELEBRATION TO PROCEED:
President and Mrs. Koob's annual picnic for faculty, staff and their
families will take place on Saturday as scheduled, unless subsequent
disasters occur. In times such as these, the importance of gathering
together as a community takes on renewed significance. In light of recent
events, the focus will be on fellowship. In deference to the loss suffered
by so many Americans, the usual live entertainment will be curtailed.
The activities for children will go on as planned. Please bring lawn
chairs or a blanket. Rain location is Maucker Union.

Volleyball opens their 2001 home schedule at 7 p.m., Fri. against Southern
Illinois and Sat. against Evansville at 5 p.m., (note this time change).

UNI WOMEN'S SOCCER: Panther
Women's Soccer hosts two home matches this weekend as they play Loyola-Chicago
Fri. at 4 p.m. and Illinois State, Sun. at 1 p.m. The Panthers will
host a FREE CVYSA Adult/Youth clinic at 11 a.m. prior to Sunday's match.
Both matches are on the West Athletic Field adjacent to the UNI-Dome.

clothing of the 1920's will debut in a fashion show at the Marshall
Center School. Costumes have been reproduced through grants from the
State Historical Society of Iowa and the Community Foundation.

Venture Capital Conferece will be held at the Polk County Convention
Complex in Des Moines, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Free admission

deadline is Sept. 17.
