AEOP FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR: The UNI Association of Educational Office Professionals (AEOP) announces its first meeting of the year, noon, September 11 in Maucker Union Expansion Room C. The theme is "Shoot for the Moon, Even If You Miss It, You Land Among the Stars."
WEBCT WORKSHOP: ITS-Educational Technology, is offering free WebCT workshops on Aug. 15 and 16 for faculty members at UNI. WebCT allows you to create on-line courseware as a supplement to an existing face-to-face course, or helps you create a course that is completely on-line. EMPLOYEE SURVEY: All UNI employees are invited to participate in a survey on employee attitudes and organizational change conducted by Kim LeGro, a psychology graduate student, for her masters thesis. Participation is anonymous. The survey will take 15-20 minutes to complete. To participate, visit http://www.csbs.uni.edu/users/legro/uni/consent_form.asp. MYUNIVERSE NEWS: MyUNIverse News,the student version of UNIonline, will premiere on Mon. Aug. 20. Many students will be checking their e-mail before returning to school. Announcements pertinent to students should be submitted to http://www.uni.edu/unionline/ MyUNIverse News will appear each Monday in students' e-mail. Submission deadline is noon on the preceeding Friday.
BISCOTTI'S: Biscotti's pastries & more is opening Wed., Aug. 15. This new bakery/convenience store is located inside the north entrance of Redeker Center. Biscotti's will have the largest selection of fresh baked goods on campus in addition to a complete selection of beverages and snacks. On August 15th, treat yourself to a free sample of breads and biscotti. Store hours through Aug. 23 are 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

G LOT: The Sabin G Lot will soon become a thing of the past. Due to the pending remodeling of McCollum, this parking lot will be designated an "A" lot when school begins on Aug. 27. The lot will remain an "A" lot until it's closure sometime during the fall semester. The Gilchrist "G" lot will be the only remaining "G" lot on campus. These spots will not be oversold this academic year. 23 "G" permits will be sold based on submissions to the "lottery". The main lot by the Industrial Technology Building will be designated completely as an "A" parking lot. Questions should be directed to the Dept. of Public Safety.
PHONE DIRECTORIES: There are copies remaining of last year's campus phone directoy; they are available at the Information Desk in Maucker. This year's directories should be available in late October.

PARKING LOT MAINTENANCE: Pavement seal coating takes place this week. 1.) ART SOUTH LOT, August 13,14,15 2.) CAMPBELL WEST C LOT, August 13,14,15 3.) GILCHRIST A LOT August 13,14,15. Seal coating in the GILCHRIST A LOT will take place in two phases requiring one-half of the lot to be closed at a time. The south side GILCHRIST A LOT (south of sidewalk) will be closed Monday Aug. 13 and Tues. Aug. 14. The north side of GILCHRIST A LOT (north of sidewalk) will be closed Wed. Aug. 15. In case of inclement weather, work shall proceed the following day. Signage will be provided at each lot to announce shedule changes.
PARKING PERMITS: You have until Aug. 15 to order your parking permit online. It can be mailed to you, or picked up at the Department of Public Safety. The charges can either be payroll deducted for staff and faculty, or put on a student's Ubill. To access the online application, visit Access UNI and go to the link for the 2001-2002 parking permit application. You'll need your social security number and PIN in order to access the online application. For those wishing to purchase permits in person, they are now available at 102 Gilchrist Hall during business hours. If you have questions, contact Ann Kjeld at 3-2710.
