EMPLOYEE RESOURCES

FACILITIES PLANNING: Facilities Planning announces a new web site, http://www.vpaf.uni.edu/facplan/ All requests for Facilities Planning services (including furniture) should now be submitted through this Web site. Information on Facilities Planning and project request procedures are included on the Web site. Areas of the site are still under development. Feedback is appreciated.

WRS FACILITY REGISTRATION: WRS will begin accepting registrations on August 1. Annual facility usage runs from Sept. 1, 2001 to August 31, 2002 at an individual cost of $120 for UNI Faculty/Staff or their spouse. You may register one of three ways: New - online registration! You may register for facility usage at http://access.uni.edu/wrs/user/index.cgi and for towel service at http://access.uni.edu/wrs/towel/index.cgi , or Log on to Access UNI, go into the forms repository under WRS Facility User Registration and print a facility registration form. Mail completed form to: 0201 Wellness/Recreation Services, or Stop in our office, WRC 101, and register in person. Do not hesitate to call our office for assistance 273-6275.

AFSCME: Nick Bambach, Human Resources Director, will be conducting informational briefings regarding changes to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. The briefings will be approximately 30-45 minutes, in GIL 207. Individuals who supervise AFSCME employees and/or interpret the AFSCME contract are invited. Scheduled times are: Tuesday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8 at 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 10 at 9:00 a.m. New collective bargaining agreement booklets will be available at the sessions. LIBRARY INSTRUCTION: Now is the time to start lining up library instruction for your fall classes. However, availability is often limited so either call Cindy Kruckeberg at 3-2839 or fill out the form at http://www.uni.edu/library/requestinstr.htm to reserve a library instruction session for your students this fall.

LIBRARY COURSE RESERVE REINSTATEMENTS: Library Course Reserve Reinstatements due Aug. 3. Reserve reinstatement letters have been sent. If you would like to have the same items on reserve for the Fall 2001 semester, please fill out the form and return to the Reserve Desk (3675) by Aug. 3. After this date all items will be removed from the reserve area and returned to the shelves or to the faculty member. EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT: The Management and Professional Development Center in the College of Business will present "Building a Culture for Motivating People and Maximizing Performance" on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the CBB. The discounted tuition of $132 given to UNI employees includes student materials, lunch, and light refreshments throughout the day. MISSING UNIVERSITY TABLES: On Mon., July 23, four 6-foot tables were discovered missing from racks stored inside the Kamerick Art Bldg. atrium. The tables, with gray surfaces and black legs, were checked out from Campus Supply for the College Hill Arts Festival. If you have any information about these tables, please contact the Office of the VP for Student Services, 3-2332 or VPESS-Web@uni.edu.

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY: You can now view student employment eligibility on MyUniverse News. It will be under the label "Transactions" on the portal. An "Authorization for Transaction Usage" form must be completed and forwarded to April in Financial Aid (0024) to gain access. This will allow employers to check work study eligibility, student enrollment, and initial forms required. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Employment Office at 3-6394.

DOR MOVE: The administrative offices for the Department of Residence have moved to Redeker Center. We would like to thank the campus community for helping guests and students find our 2000-2001 location in Towers Center and we will appreciate all cooperation as people become familiar with our return to Redeker Center. Please feel free to stop in and see the new offices located on the lower level.
