AFSCME:
Nick Bambach, Human Resources Director, will be conducting informational
briefings regarding changes to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement.
The briefings will be approximately 30-45 minutes, all located in GIL
207. Individuals who supervise AFSCME employees and/or interpret the
AFSCME contract are invited. Scheduled times are: Tuesday, August 7
at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8 at 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 10 at 9:00
a.m. New collective bargaining agreement booklets will be available

Records for all titles appear in UNISTAR. Holdings include documentaries,
historical and contemporary non-fiction, film noir, and titles based
on American and British fiction, the latter acquired through the Hovet
Library Multimedia Endowment Fund.

LIBRARY COURSE RESERVE REINSTATEMENTS:
Library Course Reserve Reinstatements due Aug. 3. Reserve reinstatement
letters have been sent. If you would like to have the same items on
reserve for the Fall 2001 semester, please fill out the form and return
to the Reserve Desk (3675) by Aug. 3. After this date all items will
be removed from the reserve area and returned to the shelves or to the

COMPUTER BID: Gateway 2000
was awarded the bid for the ITS Student Computer Centers. This machine
bid ($1,107/unit) is available to all departments (for 90 days from
June 6, 2001) on campus ordering a minimum of 20 units. See the bid

STUDY ROOMS: Full-time tenured
or tenure-track instructional faculty members who wish to apply for
study rooms in the library for the fall semester should do so by Fri.,

PARKING
CHANGES:
The Sabin "G" Lot will soon become a thing of the past. Due to the pending
remodeling of McCollum Science Hall, this parking lot will be designated
as an "A" lot when school starts on August 27. The lot will remain an
"A" parking lot until it's closure sometime during the fall semester.
The Gilchrist "G" lot will be the only remaining "G" lot on campus.
These spots will not be oversold this academic year. Twenty-three "G"
permits will be sold based on submissions to the "lottery". The main
lot by Industrial Technology will be designated solely as an "A" parking
lot. Questions should be directed to Ann Kjeld, at 3-2710, in Public
Safety.

FINANCE SEARCH UPDATE: The search for a new vice president
for Administration & Finance has been terminated. The candidate selected
by the search committee declined the offer. The search will be reinstituted
in September. Eunice Dell will continue as the interim vice president
for Administration & Finance until a satisfactory candidate accepts
the position.

IOWA STATE FAIR: The Office
of University Marketing & Public Relations is planning UNI festivities
at the Iowa State Fair, August 9-19th. The UNI booth will be in the
Varied Industries Building,9 a.m.- 9p.m. More than 200 students, alumni,
faculty and staff are needed to volunteer. UNI's 125th Anniversary is
this year's theme. A historical timeline will be displayed and promotional
items will be available. Complimentary t-shirts and admission tickets
will be provided to those staffing the booth. To volunteer call Stacey
