FAQ's:
A new set of Frequently Asked Questions from campus users has been posted
to the MEMFIS Web site. Go to http://www.uni.edu/vpaf/memfis/faq.htm
to view. If you have questions regarding the MEMFIS Project, you can
submit them to memfis-help@uni.edu.

MMS PROGRAM: The current
agreement with CICcorp of College Station, Texas will be operated by
Green Valley Technology of Texas, the company that acquired CICcorp
assets recently. The agreement is yet to be signed by UNI, because concerned
parties are yet to meet and discuss the details to be agreed on. An
updated list will be provided showing the UNI departments covered under
the MMS Program (program name remains the same). Please call Chuck Neil
at 3-2980 or email at chuck.neil@uni.edu
with questions regarding this new business arrangement. Maintenance
coverage is still in place, but a temporary change is in effect regarding
payment for services.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier recently ran some guest opinions written
by UNI faculty. A piece by Jeff Weld, Biology, appeared in the Sun.,
May 13 edition. On Tues., May 15, the Courier ran a piece by Bill Greer,

Des Moines Regiser columnist Shirley Ragsdale mentioned Mark Grey's
book on immigration, "Welcoming New Iowans: A Guide for Citizens and
Communities" in her May 13 column, 'Surely, Iowans don't buy it.' She
also quoted from President Koob's introduction to the book.

LAP SWIM PROGRAM: Lap Swim
programs being held in the East Gym Swimming Pool will move to the WRC
Lap Pool as of Mon., May 21. The lap swim schedule for WRC Lap Pool
will be as follows: 6 - 7:50 a.m. (MWF), and 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. (M-F).
Kudos to the pool mechanics for finishing the maintenance project ahead

ROD LIBRARY SUMMER SERVICES SURVEY:
Rod Library staff would like to know what the university
community thinks about library services offered during summer 2001.
You are invited to fill out the library's summer services survey, available
from May 18-25. Print copies are available at several locations in the

MEMFIS: The first training
sessions for the MEMFIS system will occur between May 18 and June 1.
These sessions, called Navigation Training, will familiarize users with
the Oracle screens and how to navigate between data elements and between
various applications. This navigation training will be critical for
anyone initiating or approving purchasing or general ledger transactions.
Navigation training is recommended as a prerequisite for most of the
other MEMFIS applications training classes. For more info visit the

OPEN HOUSE: UNI's new Regional
Business Center will hold an open house as part of a joint Waterloo
and Cedar Falls Chambers of Commerce "Business After Hours" on Thurs.,
June 7 from 4 -7 p.m. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony,
building tours and demonstrations. The RBC is located in a newly renovated
building in downtown Waterloo at 212 E. 4th St. For more information,
