CAMPUS MEETING: President
Koob has scheduled an all-campus meeting at 3:15 p.m. on Mon., March
26 in the Gallagher-BluedornPerforming Arts Center Great Hall. The
purpose of this meeting is to put the budget cuts for FY '02 into
context and discuss the likely impact on the university. The meeting
will be simulcast on closed-circuit UNI-TV on channels 21 & 22
and live on the web at: http://www.uni.edu/livemedia.

LATEST LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: Continued
weakness in state tax receipts could mean millions in budget cuts
in fiscal year 2002 for Iowas state agencies, including UNI.
Following the release of an official estimate predicting revenue growth
of less than 1 percent in the current fiscal year, Governor Tom Vilsack
has proposed reducing his budget recommendation for the next fiscal

NEW STUDENT E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR FALL 2001:
ITS is beginning the migration to a consistent UserID for
student access to most computer systems on campus. As of March 15

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PREVIEW EXPERIENCE IN MERIDA,
MEXICO: Students are being offered an international pre-professional
preview experience in Merida, Mexico. The program is called "UNI
Job Shadowing and Informational Interviewing in the Yucatan Peninsula,
Mexico" and will take place from July 16-25. We are looking for
students who have junior or senior status, can speak Spanish, and

CODE SPLIT:
A split of the 319 area code becomes effective March 25, with a new
area code, 563 to be implemented for the eastern section of the geographic
area. Callers will be able to use either code beginning March 25th
but mandatory dialing of the correct area code will be necessary beginning

There are some changes that need to be noted from Campus Directory
Department Abbreviations listing. They are as follows: On page 3,
Jim Bodensteiner should be listed as department head in place of Glenn
Hansen. On page 5, the building should be LNG, Room 122 and the Zip
Code should be 50614-0135.

ANXIETY DISORDER SCREENING: Anxiety
Disorder Screening Day on March 29. There will be two separate sessions
throughout the day: 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. Please choose only 1 session
to attend. The sessions will last approximately 1 hour. Participants
must arrive on time in order to take part in the screening. The Counseling
Center is located at 213 Student Services Center. The screening is
