LEGISLATIVE
UPDATE-IMPORTANT BUDGET NEWS:
UNI, along with other Regent universities, would be required to cut
just over a million dollars from the current fiscal year budget under
a deappropriation bill being pushed by Republican legislative leaders.
If passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor, the deappropriation
bill would cut the fiscal year 2001 general operating budgets by $1.05
million at UNI. The proposal has very serious implications, particularly
since the cuts would come near the end of the fiscal and academic
year when state appropriations have already been committed for programs
and salaries. For more information, visit: http://www.uni.edu/govrel/022501.shtml

university Cabinet this month, was developed for use in a variety
of formats that did not exist when the previous nameplate was adopted.
