SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2001-02:
Now is the time to process renewal and new scholarships for the upcoming
academic year. For scholarship amounts tied to tuition & fees, the
following semester figures have been approved by the Board of Regents:
TUITION: Undergrad Resident: 1,558 Undergrad Nonresident: 4,219 Graduate
Resident: 1,851 Graduate Nonresident: 4,561 The following mandatory
fees are the same for all classifications: COMPUTER: 63, HEALTH: 53,
STUDENT ACTIVITY: 46.

UNI SPEAKERS BUREAU AND MEDIA RESOURCES:
The Office of University Marketing and Public Relations
thanks those faculty and staff who have volunteered to be part of
UNI's Speakers Bureau. More faculty and staff are needed to share
their expertise with community organizations and service groups. The
deadline for database entries has been extended to February 13. To

SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS:
For UNI departments planning to award summer scholarships, there are
changes coming this summer. Please contact Evie Waack, 3-2799 and
set up an appointment to discuss your situation.

ICN SCHEDULING: All scheduling
relating to the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) is now being handled
by Michelle Clark in Continuing Education. If you have a question
about the ICN or would like to schedule a session, please call 3-5970.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT TUITION:
Based on a recent federal government ruling, tuition scholarships
may be charged to grant accounts for those Graduate Assistants who
perform work for sponsored projects. This is effective with the Spring
2001 semester. Tuition dollars must be split among accounts in the
same proportion as Graduate Assistant stipend dollars. Existing commitments
to pay tuition from university funds as a contribution to a grant
will be honored. All grant proposals submitted after January 1, 2001
that budget for Graduate Assistant stipends should include dollars
for Graduate Assistant tuition remissions. Questions should be directed

DEAN TO APPEAR ON IPTV:
Rori Carson, College of Education associate dean, will appear on Iowa
Public Television at 8 p.m. Feb. 11. Carson will be part of a panel
of experts who will share their ideas in a special 90-minute program
called, "Who Will Teach Iowa's Children?"

BEST WISHES: Doris Miller,
Administrative Assistant to Pres. Koob, retired from the University
on Jan. 31. She is a graduate of UNI and has worked in the President's
office since 1965. Her office is organizing a card shower and encourages

EDUCATION:
Online Learning & Teaching is a two week mini-course about online
learning and teaching. The mini-course will be conducted entirely

FESTIVAL OF BANDS:
The festival will be Feb. 8, 9 & 10 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday)
in the GBPAC Great Hall, Davis Hall and RHA. Events will take place

SYMPHONIC/WIND CONCERT:
UNI Symphonic Band and UNI Wind Symphony Concert will take place Fri.,
Feb. 9 in GBPAC Great Hall at 7:30 p.m., with John Baker and John

UNI MEN'S BASKETBALL:
Sat., Feb. 10 the Panthers will host the Drake Bulldogs at 4:05 p.m.
in the UNI-Dome. The last time these two teams met earlier in the

MUSEUM SUNDAY SERIES "PRAIRIES":
The second of the UNI Museums' Sunday Series programs will be held
on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. Kirk Henderson, Manager of the Roadside Program
at UNI, will talk about the history of prairies, help direct you in
creating a prairie of your own and discuss the steps necessary to
restore and maintain a prairie. This program is free and open to the
public.

dancers, singers and musicians from 14 tribes as the American Indian

The Career Center is hosting a Camp and Recreation Expo on Wed., Feb.

U.S. will be on hand to talk with students about a wide variety of
