EDNET NEWS RELEASES: University
Marketing and Public Relations sends out a series of news releases
called "EdNets" each month, aimed at parents and educators
of students K-12. They can deal with just about any topic that would
appeal to that audience. Previous subjects have included obesity in
children, teaching children how to forgive, and helping parents make
sense of the financial aid process.
The releases are
distributed to all newspapers in the state, as well to selected television
and radio outlets, and national publications like Working Mother and
Sesame Street. Of course, there is no guarantee the releases will
be used, but UMPR has seen high usage of the pieces, particularly
by Iowa newspapers. If you (or someone you know at the university)
can talk knowledgeably about a subject that would work as an EdNet
feature, please contact
Gwenne Culpepper at 3-2761, or gwenne.culpepper@uni.edu.
