E-MAIL PROBLEMS WITH HOTMAIL: Problems originating with the
web-based e-mail service Hotmail that began last Thursday have
continued over the weekend. This has resulted in periods lasting from
several hours to a day where incoming mail to UNI from Hotmail is
being denied to prevent the entire UNI e-mail system from experiencing
problems. Legitimate e-mail from Hotmail accounts is held during
the blocked periods and forwarded to its destination when the block
is lifted. At this point it's impossible to predict when the situation
may clear permanently, leaving the possibility open of further blocks
to incoming e-mails from Hotmail accounts.

PARKING AND WEATHER NOTIFICATION: The Department of Public
Safety and the Physical Plant want to remind all faculty, staff,
students and visitors to have vehicles removed from the G, A,
and B parking lots by 1 a.m. during the winter for snow removal
operations. Failure to remove vehicles as required can result in
a fine or towing. Weather may cause the delays and/or cancellation
of classes. All weather-related decisions will be announced by
the following TV and radio stations. If there is no announcement,
plan on normal operations. TV: KWWL-TV, KGAN-TV, KCRG-TV, UNI-TV.
Radio: KFMW, KWLO, KXEL, KOKZ, KCNZ, KUNI, WMT, KNWS, KBBG,
KGRK, KOEL-AM,KOEL-FM, KWAY, KKCV, KCRR.

UNI CALENDARS: UNI Calendars are available for purchase from Alumni
Relations, 204 Commons. The calendar features "A Look Inside" the
University of Northern Iowa, and it includes important University
dates and events through Sept. of 2001. The cost is $10 and can be
ordered by calling Brenda in Alumni Relations at 3-2355.

GORDON TIMPANY MEMORIAL BLOOD DRIVE: The American Red Cross will be
sponsoring the annual Holiday Blood Drive on Fri., Nov. 24, from
7 a.m.-3 p.m. to be held at 2530 University Avenue. This
drive will be dedicated in honor of Gordon Timpany who served
the American Red Cross for over 30 years. For appointment call
234-6831, Walk-ins are welcome.

SIDELINE COACHING PROGRAM: The athletic department is inviting
faculty, administrators and staff to participate in the Sideline
Coaching Program. Participants may observe the Women's Basketball,
Men's Basketball, Wrestling, Swimming, or Track and Field programs.
Attend a practice, meet the student-athletes and attend a contest as
