UNI CAMPUS PHONE BOOK: The Human Resource Services office is updating
information for the 2000-01 UNI campus phone book. We are asking for
updated personal information only. Departmental changes will only be
accepted from the Department Secretary/Office Coordinator. Refer any
office phone or address changes to these individuals. A departmental
listing will be sent to each of them for verification in approximately

GASTON NAMED INTEGRATED MARKETING HEAD: Cheryl Gaston, APR, has been
appointed UNI's first assistant vice president for marketing and public
relations. Gaston will lead the university's integrated marketing efforts
and will oversee the Office of University Marketing and Public Relations,
formerly the Office of Public Relations.

UNI SATURDAY CELEBRATION: Don't forget the Fifth Annual UNI Saturday
Celebration, a picnic for all UNI faculty, staff and their families,
Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The picnic will be held
on the south lawn near the president's home, hosted by Bob and Yvonne
Koob. Food, drinks and table service are provided. Please bring lawn
chairs or a blanket. Rain site is in the Maucker Union.

UNI WOMEN'S RUGBY: The UNI Women's Rugby Club will be playing their
first match of the season this Sunday at 12:00 noon on the fields behind
the dome, admission is free. This will be one of the biggest matches
in the club's history and should be an excellent game to watch. Their
opponent, Eastern Illinois,is rated 3rd in the midwest. The UNI Women

AEOP FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR: The UNI Association of Educational
Office Professionals (AEOP) announcedits 2000-01 "Uncovering Best-Kept
Secrets--You and I Emerging at UNI" program. The theme this year
empahsizes that we are uncovering our unique potentials and we are
continually growing and developing professionally and personally.
The first meeting is Tues, Sept. 12, at noon in the Maucker Union

PARKING LOT CLOSED: The Minnesota St. and West Gym A lots will be closed
all day, Tues, Sept. 19 for the Hibbs Memorial dedication. The GBPAC visitor lot will be open for A permit parking.

the last open enrollment sessions of Fall 2000. Call 3-2838 to sign up

SPEAKER: Parker Palmer is a writer, teacher, and activist who works
independently on issues in education, community, leadership,
spirituality, and social change. In 1998, he was named as one of the
thirty "most influential senior leaders" in higher education and one
of the 10 key "agenda-setters" of the past decade. Wednesday, Sept 20,
he will present three lectures at UNI: "Teaching Demonstration on a
Holistic Teaching Community"; "Social Justice as a Theme in Public
Higher Education" and "Honor Thy Teacher: Educational Reform from
