FY 2001 UNIVERSITY BUDGET: The University's FY 2001 Operating Budget
has been approved the the Board of Regents and is available for campus
users on the web.
SUMMER HOURS ALMOST OVER: Summer hours for university offices will end
on Friday, August 11. Beginning Monday, August 14, regular office hours
(8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) will begin. Supervisors of staff who do not
have e-mail access, please inform them of this change.
NEW PARKING RULES: One of the major changes this year involves "visitor"
parking. Many of you may already be aware we now have a lot on campus
strictly for the use of visitors. The lot is adjacent to the north side
of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. For now, the lot
requires a valid visitor parking permit. Eventually, a park and pay
system will be installed in the lot, and a fee will be required. For
additional information about this new lot and some other changes
affecting visitor parking, please see:
NEW EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS: As soon as an offer of temporary employment
is extended and accepted, the individual should be directed to the HR
office to complete a U.S. Department of Justice Employment Eligibility
Verification (I-9) Form and other paperwork. This should be done prior
to the employee beginning work, whenever possible, but absolutely no
later than the third day of work. New employees must bring in certain
documents that establish identity and employment eligibility, which
will be copied and attached to their I-9 form. To obtain a list of
acceptable documents, please call Human Resources at 3-2422.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT CHANGES: There have been some changes to student
employment policies. The changes are intended to allow more discretion
to departments by removing restrictions caused by the old matrix.
For more details, see:
