EMPLOYEE RESOURCES

A copy of the "Campus Master Plan Update Year 2000" is now on RESERVES
in Rod Library. RESERVES is on the first floor of Rod Library opposite
the main staircase in the MultiService Center. This document, compiled
by Facilities Planning, formed the basis of a recent presentation to
the Board of Regents. The document includes maps, diagrams, and text.
You may find it of interest as the UNI campus continues to evolve.

NEW ROD LIBRARY DATABASES: Rod Library recently subscribed to CQ Researcher
and the Wall Street Journal. Both can be accessed under Indexes, Abstracts,
& Databases on the Rod Library home page at http://www.library.uni.edu/.
CQ Researcher, published by Congressional Quaterly, Inc., is updated weekly
and provides background information and analysis on current issues of the
day such as world trade and human genome research. Reports back to 1983 are
online. The Wall Street Journal, distributed by Bell & Howell to academic
markets, includes the full text of articles back to 1984. It can be searched
by itself or simultaneously with ABI/INFORM.

DOR AUCTION: Excess inventory will be auctioned by the Department of
Residence Wednesday, June 21, 10 a.m. at the Redeker east parking lot.
Merchandise includes hundreds of wooden desks and chairs plus stacking
chairs; dining tables; kitchen baking pans, warming pans and utensils;
some electronic equipment; uniforms and china. Feature items include
the combination mail box fronts from residence halls. See photos at:

CAMPUS VISITORS: Our conference guests living on campus this week
include participants in Girls State, UNI Suzuki Institute, Track and
Field Sports Camp, Iowa PGA Golf, Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School
World of Work, French Summer Institute, Upward Bound, and Orientation.
It is a privilege to support a good experience for a range of audiences.

TRAINING

INTERESTED IN NETSCAPE MESSENGER AND/OR CALENDAR INSTRUCTION? If there
is sufficient interest, ITS-Educational Technology will schedule some
beginning workshops for Messenger (e-mail) and/or Calendar during June
or July. If you are a new employee or haven't used these programs in
the past, please call 3-2309 and let us know what day and time works best
for you (9-11 AM or 1-3 PM M-F). We'll do our best to accommodate you.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY TRAINING. The Rod Library will offer a series of
brief training sessions for the UNI UnCover Gateway - the new document
delivery pilot project for UNI faculty. Training sessions will be held
in Room 286 of the Rod Library on the following days:

Thursday June 15 11:00 - 11:50 a.m.
Friday June 23 11:00 - 11:50 a.m.
Friday June 23 1:00 - 1:50 p.m.
