NEW DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE: The Rod Library Carl UnCover Gateway
is now available via the Web at
http://rodnet.library.uni.edu/uncover/uncover.asp
This pilot project allows faculty to search the UnCover database of
more than 8 million periodical articles and order copies of articles
not available in the Rod Library collection.

PURCHASING ARTWORK FOR YOUR OFFICE OR DEPARTMENT: The 2000 Annual
Juried Student Art Exhibition will be March 23rd. Join other offices
on campus that support and encourage UNI's art students by purchasing

UNCOVER GATEWAY TRAINING: Learn to use the new Rod Library - UnCover
Gateway document delivery pilot project in one of these brief sessions:
Thursday, February 17, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Monday, February 21, 3-4 p.m.
Friday, February 25, 3-4 p.m.
Tuesday, February 29, 11 a.m.-noon.
Wednesday, March 1, 1-2 p.m.
All sessions will be held in 286 Rod Library. They are free and open
to UNI faculty only. Call 3-2838 to reserve a place in a workshop.

WebCT 2.0 TRAINING: ITS-ET is offering training on the newest version
of WebCT for faculty who want to develop an on-line aspect to current
courses or who want to develop a course that is entirely on-line.
Dates for the training are as follows: WebCT I (Setting up your Account)
Feb. 25th from 9:30-11:20; WebCT II (Communication Tools) Mar. 3rd from
9:30-11:20; and WebCT III (Testing and Grading) Mar. 10th from 9:30-11:20.

EVENTS

CHAMBER TRIO: Core Ensemble will perform "Of Ebony Embers" in the
Maucker Union Hemisphere Lounge at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17. Core
Ensemble blends music and acting into a theatre work. The Chamber trio
engages the audience performing vignettes of Duke Ellington and other
Harlem Renaissance performers. The script is written and performed by
Akin Babatunde. This event is free and open to the public.

UNI SYMPHONIC BAND: The University Symphonic Band will be in concert
Thursday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. in Russell Auditorium, conducted by John
L. Baker, assisted by graduate student John Oelrich. The program will
include Celerations by John Zdechlik, Children's March by Percy Grainger,
Masada by Australian composer Ralph Hultgren, Ballet Music from "Faust"
by Charles Gounod, On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss by David Holsinger,
and Slava by Leonard Bernstein. No admission charge.

Friday afternoon. Field events begin at 3 p.m. and running events

AFRICAN-AMERICAN POETS PRESENTATION: In honor of Black History Month,
three community poets will perform a combination of original work and
poetry by African American poets such as Maya Angelou and Nikki Giovanni.
Les Femmes Dujour addressing contemporary social issues from multiple
perspectives through recitation, song, and body movement. Wednesday,
Feb. 23, 7 p.m., Hemisphere Lounge, Maucker Union. For more information:
