According to a recent survey by the Rockefeller Institute of Government, two-thirds of states either have or are likely to adopt programs that use performance results in budgeting for higher education. http://www.uni.edu/unionline/public/41.html -------------------------------------------------------------------- AIRLINE TICKET FEE: On Oct. 8 most major airlines again cut commissions to travel agencies...the third in four years. With this latest cutback the entire travel industry, including Short's Travel, has been forced to shift from commission income rebates to a fee structure. In essence, travel agencies can no longer rely on the ticket price to determine their revenue, but instead on the number of tickets they issue. For UNI this means a $20 transaction fee will be added to all travel effective Oct. 25, 1999.
