EVENTS
------
The Annual Art Song and Artistry series will present the AIDS Quilt 
Songbook on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. in RSL Aud.  This free event 
is presented in collaboration with the UNI display of the AIDS Quilt,
Oct. 19-20.  The Songbook was conceived as an artistic response to 
the AIDS crisis in 1993.  A pastiche of songs by various outstanding 
American composers, the work will be performed by UNI students, with 
special faculty guest, Jeffrey Brich.  Robin Guy, of the UNI faculty,
will play piano.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 
noon-10 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. in the Maucker 
Union Expansion.

ITS will celebrate its newly-formed EdTech Department with an Open 
House at the Center for Educational Technology (CET) Building on 
Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  EdTech has resulted from a 
merger of the former Production and Training Services.  The Open 
House will showcase the variety of services in EdTech, and provide an
opportunity to meet the new director, Marilyn Drury. Details are at:

A concert of chamber music will be presented by the School of Music 
faculty on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. in RSL Aud.  The program 
features faculty performers from the brass, woodwind, percussion, 
vocal, keyboard, string and conducting areas, with assistance from 
three students and one guest artist. The concert is part of the 
Spotlight Series presented by the School of Music; tickets will be 
available at the door and are $6, $5 for senior citizens, $4 for 
students.

Panther football, coming off a 29-17 win at SW Missouri State, 
returns to the Dome to face rival Youngstown State this Saturday at 
3:05 p.m. (note the special game time).  #8 Panthers vs. #9 Penguins...

Women's Studies will be hosting Jackson Katz, a anti-sexist male 
activist visiting UNI Oct. 25, Sabin 102 at 7 p.m.  Katz will be 
speaking on "American Manhood and the Prevention for Violence Against
Women". The event is free.  For more information, contact the Women's

Ballroom Dance-intermediate level starts Oct.25; Swing Dance lessons

A special congratulations to UNI women's cross country and women's 
golf for their victories over the weekend. Cross country won the SW 
Missouri Invitational while golf brought home the title from Eastern
