What's happening this week at UNI?

The UNI Student Handbook is available on-line.  The web page provides
links to university policies and procedures relating to student 
rights and responsibilities. 

If you are interested in serving as a Student Organization advisor 
for the 1999-2000 academic year, please contact Megan Vadnais at 
3-2683.  This is a great opportunity for faculty or staff to become 
involved with some very motivated and talented students.

Peer Leadership Consultants (PLC) are student leaders who have been 
trained to facilitate programs related to diversity awareness, social
styles, teambuilding, leadership skills and styles, and much more.  
If you are interested in scheduling a presentation for your 
organization or class, please contact the Student Activities Office 
at 3-2683.

The College of Business Administration MBA Kick-Off Barbecue will be 
6-8 p.m., Sat., Aug. 28, in 1-3 CBB. For more information, contact

Lexis-Nexis has a new look! Over the weekend Lexis-Nexis unveiled a 
new version of its three major products: Academic Universe, 
Congressional Universe, and Statistical Universe. For more

ITS Training Services and ITS Production Services have merged to 
become ITS Educational Technology.  A search is currently being 
conducted for the Director of the department.

Sole Power Fall Kick Off will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1. 
Free bike tune-ups by Europa and bike registration by Public Safety.

The UNI Artists Series presents good-time Louisiana Zydeco with 
Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie  7:30 p.m., Friday,

Placement and Career Services Preview Sessions for December, 1999 
and May/Summer 2000 Graduates will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 3.

Faculty, staff and student mentors for Success UNI will meet for the 
program's kickoff dinner in the SEC lobby at 5:30 p.m., Friday,

The UNI Athletic Dept. is hosting the inaugural Panther Golf Marathon
in September, in which selected Athletic staff members will attempt 
to play 100 holes of golf in a single day. Call 3-6354 if you are 
interested in offering a donation, pledging per hole, soliciting 
pledges, or for more information on this exciting new fundraiser.

Theatre UNI and UNI Lyric Theatre announce the auditions for the Fall
productions: the musical Cabaret  (opens Nov. 11) and the North 
American premiere of the Polish drama Memoirs of the Warsaw Uprising

The Volunteer Fair will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 31 in the Maucker
Union Expansion. The fair provides an opportunity for students to 
learn about volunteer opportunities where they can enhance their 
critical thinking, communication, and other valuable skills.
