Summer Camp: Learning Literacy, Reading, Math, Creations and Designs

Monday, June 22, 2015 - 9:00 am to 3:30 pm

This camp is especially designed for those who love to read, are eager to read better and/or learn how to begin reading. Located especially in the University of Northern Iowa's Rod Library Youth Collection where lots of childhood favorites and award winning books are located will be available. There will be many literacy-related arts and crafts and designer activities planned with a daily theme. Reading can take you everywhere as we also explore many of the sights and sounds on the University's campus such as the Maucker Union, Wellness and Recreation Center and many more! Children will also learn many of the skills of authoring, illustrating and publishing their own personal books!

Become a leader through other creative experiences with an integrated approach to literacy- creating our own rap music to be shared outside like a real literacy atmosphere. We will also spend some time with outside creative arts such as sidewalk chalk-writing and writing with water! Lots of literacy learning and fun!
