Poster presentations will be from noon-2 p.m. in Old Central Ballroom, Maucker Union. Oral presentations will be from 2-4 p.m. in the lower level of Maucker Union. Creative performances begin at 6 p.m. in Graham Hall in Russell Hall.

Thursday, April 2, 2015 - 7:00 pm

Campus Activities Board (CAB) presents "The Imitation Game." There will be two showings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Cookies, brownies, popcorn and pop will be available.

Honors Week is a celebration of academics and scholastic achievement at the University of Northern Iowa. The week provides an opportunity to recognize and connect students who are collectively pursuing academic excellence through honor societies, honorary organizations and the University Honors Program.

Honors Week is designed to highlight and promote events your society is already hosting, such as elections, recognition and induction ceremonies, or end of the year events taking place during the week of April 6.  Honors Week also includes activities to bring everyone together, such as volunteer projects, film viewings, the Honors Ball and research presentations.

Alpha Delta Pi will host a spaghetti dinner. TC and TK will be present; other activities includ "Pie an ADPi," games and prizes. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Contact an Alpha Delta Pi member for tickets. All proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Tuesday, April 7, 2015 - 6:30 pm

The Honors Student Advisory will host the 2nd Annual Honors Quiz Bowl. Teams of up to four students will participate in a sudden death quiz tournament (open to all students). The final round will include two student teams competing for a prize and a guest team of UNI faculty members (Jeff Byrd, Jay Lees and Jessica Moon) trying to steal points from both student teams. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with the event running from 7-9 p.m. A limited number of teams can participate; register by midnight April 3, at

Campus Activities Board (CAB) will host a screening of the documentary "What Matters?" A Q&A session with the filmmakers follows the screening.  The goal of the filmmakers is to use personal stories, humor and technology to engage the audience with their mission to “connect those who need something to live for with those who just need something to live.” This dynamic presentation is based on the feature-length documentary about three friends, two idealistic Christians and one skeptic Atheist, attempting to live in extreme poverty (on $1.25 a day) across three continents. The adventure takes a devastating turn when two of them survive a deadly plane crash in Africa and all three must fight to finish what they started. Through their film and Q&A, the filmmakers will make the case that this generation can have a profound impact on the issues that break their heart.

Relay for Life is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the UNI Colleges Against Cancer chapter. The 12-hour event will raise money for cancer research. Participants will celebrate those who have beat cancer, remember those who have lost their battle and fight back so cancer no longer exists in our world. Entertainment will include a live band, bounce houses, silent auction, photo booth, contests and speeches by those who have been affected by cancer.

The Hispanic Latino Student Union (HLSU) will host a Latino Ball. Music and dances include Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue and reggaeton. The theme of the dance is Casino Royale.

Participiate in the UNI Out of the Darkness Campus Walk and join the effort to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy and support survivors of suicide loss. As the leader in the fight against suicide, AFSP has set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20 percent by 2025. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. with the walk beginning at 2 p.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

QUASH is the Quest to Unravel Alzheimer's Scavenger Hunt. It's a one part mental and one part physical competition for a great cause. Teams of 2-4 participants will have 1.5 hours to complete a scavenger hunt around the University of Northern Iowa's campus and surrounding areas.  All proceed's raised from QUASH benefit the Alzheimer's Associations mission of a world without Alzheimer's Disease through care and support for Alzheimer's patients and there families as well as the research efforts around the United States.
