UNI Dance Marathon will host its 4th annual "Big Event." Registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt, free entertainment and two meals. Register at The fundraising goal is $225,000.

SHRM will host a panel of human resource professionals who will answer questions about their jobs, the industry, and more.

Participants will make literacy kits to donate, pet toys, write letters to soldiers and tie fleece blankets for local children's hospitals.

Wednesday, March 11, 2015 - 7:00 pm

The speaker at this event will present real-life leadership skills and how students can utilize them as leaders in organizations as well as in the classroom and workplace.

Thursday, March 12, 2015 - 5:00 pm

Are you hungry for international food? Attend the free Global Associates event and try out different types of food and learn about different world cultures. Regions that will be explored are the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Win door prizes and take salsa dance lessons.

UNI Speech presents their annual Spring Showcase: "A Night
     of Active Voices!" Top 10 nationally for 3 years running, the
     team will be showcasing award-winning, dynamic, and entertaining
     speech and acting performances on current issues. Come LAUGH,
     CRY, CHEER, and THINK with the nationally recognized Speech
     Panthers. FREE, but donations are welcome.

Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society will host a speed reading workshop presented by Iris Reading. Participants will learn simple ways to increase reading speed, as well as how to improve comprehension, remember more of what you read, read faster on the computer screen, improve concentration while reading and read technical material more effectively. The workshop is open to all UNI students and staff, with extra discounts available for those that sign up in pairs or groups.

Honors Week is designed to highlight and promote events your society is already hosting, such as elections, recognition and induction ceremonies, or end of the year events taking place during the week of April 6.  Honors Week also includes activities to bring everyone together, such as volunteer projects, film viewings, the Honors Ball and research presentations.

Alpha Delta Pi will host a spaghetti dinner. TC and TK will be present; other activities includ "Pie an ADPi," games and prizes. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Contact an Alpha Delta Pi member for tickets. All proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Honors Student Advisory will host the 2nd Annual Honors Quiz Bowl. Teams of up to four students will participate in a sudden death quiz tournament (open to all students). The final round will include two student teams competing for a prize and a guest team of UNI faculty members (Jeff Byrd, Jay Lees and Jessica Moon) trying to steal points from both student teams. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with the event running from 7-9 p.m. A limited number of teams can participate; register by midnight April 3, at

Friday, April 10, 2015 - 6:00 pm to Saturday, April 11, 2015 - 6:00 am

Relay for Life is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the UNI Colleges Against Cancer chapter. The 12-hour event will raise money for cancer research. Participants will celebrate those who have beat cancer, remember those who have lost their battle and fight back so cancer no longer exists in our world. Entertainment will include a live band, bounce houses, silent auction, photo booth, contests and speeches by those who have been affected by cancer.

The Hispanic Latino Student Union (HLSU) will host a Latino Ball. Music and dances include Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue and reggaeton. The theme of the dance is Casino Royale. 

Sunday, April 12, 2015 - 1:00 pm

Participiate in the UNI Out of the Darkness Campus Walk and join the effort to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy and support survivors of suicide loss. As the leader in the fight against suicide, AFSP has set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20 percent by 2025. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. with the walk beginning at 2 p.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

Saturday, April 18, 2015 - 7:30 pm

The UNI International Dance Theatre presents their annual spring performance. Experience cultures from all around the world through multicultural, folk and ballroom dance styles. Enjoy other dance styles such as contemporary, jazz and tap. This show is appropriate for all ages. Admission is $8 for the general public; $4 for all students and senior citizens.
