Thursday, September 1, 2016 - 5:00 pm

The Prelaw Club will hold its initial meeting to make plans for the academic year. Prelaw advisors Scott Peters, Lisa Jepsen and Martha Reinecke will discuss preparing for and applying to law school, as well as other areas of concern for prelaw students. All students with an interest in law school are welcome, regardless of major. Freshmen and sophomores are especially encouraged to attend. 

Thursday, September 1, 2016 - 6:00 pm

The UNI English Club will hold the first meeting of the academic year to discuss events and elect new officers. Everyone is welcome.

Thursday, September 8, 2016 -
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

The topic will be UNI STEM Ambassadors, a program that was revamped during the summer. STEM Ambassadors are undergraduate volunteers with declared STEM majors or minors who represent their department at on and off campus STEM events. UNI STEM provides professional development, organization of the group and incentives (t-shirts, uniforms, transcript notations) for participation. Attendees will learn about the program, how to nominate a student from your department and help identify events and activities for which STEM Ambassadors can assist.

6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

This is the kickoff event for the Financial Literacy Club with free pizza, cash drawings totalling $1,000 and financial education.

Thursday, September 15, 2016 - 4:00 pm

Meet fellow graduate students as well as faculty and staff in the graduate community. This is your chance to network and meet others who have may share similar interests. Take a break, relax and have some refreshments.

Tuesday, September 27, 2016 - 3:00 pm

TAGS features an overview of the graduate application processes followed by the Graduate Faculty Panel sharing their insights on how to build a strong application. Academic Learning Center staff will present information on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

Thursday, October 13, 2016 -
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

The topic will be "Opportunities On and Off Campus" with Phillip Plourde and Carolina Coronado-Park. They will share how faculty and staff can become involved in CIEP, other on-campus international opportunties and opportunities abroad. There will be information about resoruces and programs that help faculty connect with colleagues in other countries, UNI's current international partners and more.
