The Strayer-Wood Theatre presents August: Osage County

Friday, April 11, 2014 - 7:30 pm

When Weston family patriarch vanishes one hot summer night, his acid-tongued, pill-popping wife summons her grown daughters and their families to their Oklahoma homestead. Dinner is served, lies are told, and long-held family secrets are unflinchingly revealed. Tracy Letts’ comic tragedy exposes the emotional destruction that rips through generations if nothing stops its path. One of the most critically acclaimed plays of this century, August earned the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Tony Award for Best Play, and Drama Desk Award for Best New Play. Directed by alumna Angie Toomsen and featuring UNI faculty Richard Glockner and Cynthia Goatley.
