The UNI swimming & diving team will take on the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks.
For some, their first musical memory might be a favorite song playing on the radio, a video on MTV, or a concert their parents took them to. But for 22-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist Lukas Nelson, his first music memory is being onstage with such superstars as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and his father Willie Nelson singing along and stomping his feet to a crowd of thousands. Nelson who fronts the Southern-folk-rock group Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and whose full-length debut CD, Promise of the Real, was released December 21, 2010.

In Silk Cascade, Lily Cai’s choreography bridges the continuum from the past to present, from the creative interpretation of China’s Dai minority dances to the vibrant contemporary swirls of long silk ribbons in the Silk Cascade finale, inspired by the art of Jackson Pollock.
Youth ages 5-12 are invited to join the UNI Volleyball Little Panther Club. The club gives youngsters the opportunity to learn volleyball skills and activities from current UNI volleyball players and coaches. In addition to the clinic on Oct. 23, club members will demonstrate their skills at the "Playing in McLeod" event on Sat., Nov. 12. Free admission to all home, regular-season UNI volleyball games is included with the $20 registration fee. The UNI swimming & diving team will take on the North Dakota Fighting Sioux and the Kansas Jayhawks. The diving begins at 8 a.m., with the swimming to follow at 11 a.m.
UNI Women's Volleyball takes on Illinois State.
All Professional & Scientific (P&S) and Supervisory and Confidential Merit employees are cordially invited to the P&S Council's Annual Meet the Pres event. The program will include an address by President Ben Allen, recognition of the 2011 Regents Staff Excellence Award recipients and a UNI Spirit Presentation. Special entertainment will be provided by the UNI Marching Band. Staff are welcome to bring their lunch. Complimentary dessert will be served.
