A performance showcasing the talents of both Orchesis Dance Company and International Dance Theatre. Between the groups there will be dance styles such as ballet, modern, jazz, tap, ballroom and folk dance. It's during Family Weekend; admission is free.
Northern Iowa Student Government (NISG) will sponsor VoterPalooza. The rain location for the event will be in the Maucker Union Coffeehouse. The event will include free food for 1,500 students and giveaways courtesy of NISG. Voter registration will be available and is encouraged.
The event is co-sponsored by the Northern Iowa Democrats and UNI College Republicans.
UNI has also partnered with TurboVote to make it easy to register to vote. When students sign up, they will be able to access everything needed to register to vote, stay registered if they move, vote absentee and get reminders about local, state and federal elections. The UNI Ad Club will host Bob Hellman, founder and chairman of the board of Hellman and Associates and founder and executive director for Build our Ballpark. Hellman and Associates is a marketing and advertising agency with national and international clients, specializing in conception through completion campaigns and project marketing.
The Service and Leadership Council will host a leadership conference featuring seminars on budgeting, navigating the NISG funding process, motivation of members, team development, advertising and marketing, event planning and more. The conference is geared to student organization leaders but all students are welcome. There will be networking opportunities with other student leaders, a keynote speaker and free lunch. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m.
UNI Student Reading Association will be hosting its bi-annual Scholastic Book Fair in the Schindler Education Center 2nd Floor Lobby beginning Monday, September 29 through Friday, October 3 daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The new Book Bistro inside Rod Library will celebrate its grand opening. There will be a ribbon cutting, a short presentation and a special appearance from TC. The Book Bistro officially opened on Monday, Sept. 15. It specializes in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato bisque soup and hot and cold tea as well as Starbucks coffee. The Book Bistro is a welcome addition to dining on campus as well as a highlighted feature inside Rod Library. Please join us to celebrate!

Join UNIFI for a blanket drive as part of Out Week. Participants will make fleece tie blankets for a program called From Cover to Cover in the lobby outside the ballroom. This organization provides blankets and books to kids in need.
The Multicultural Leadership Retreat is a conference geared towards helping student leaders, in multidisciplinary aspects of campus life, become better, passionate, and more effective leaders. Conference participants will engage in half a dozen workshops that will: challenge their perception of a leader; help them understand their recruitment and retention issues; learn to be more inclusive for diverse, multicultural populations; and re-ignite that passionate leader flame that is dimmed. The Multicultural Leadership Retreat is for all levels of leadership, ranging from beginner to advanced. It is FREE of charge to all who are interested.
