Toast for Change Keynote Address: Rev. Dr. John Womack

Reverend Dr. John H. Womack will be traveling to the Cedar Valley to be the keynote speaker during the Black Student Union's Toast for Change Banquet. Womack will share his testimony of how in 1977, with a mop and bucket, he started his own company and named it "John's Janitorial Services, Inc." His company quickly expanded and he soon became a well-established businessman, founding and becoming president of several companies. Womack often states that money and education are not requisites to starting a business or to making it in this world; rather, it is the proper state of mind or frame of reference.

Tunnel of Oppression

The Tunnel of Oppression is one of our most respected and mind-opening events of the month.  It is an interactive tour designed to introduce participants to the concepts of oppression, privilege and power.  Participants are guided through a series of scenes that aim to educate and challenge them to think more deeply about issues of opression.  At the end of the tunnel, is our Room of Hope, which allows for participants to discuss their experiences and put to use their new-found knowledge in their everyday lives.

UNI Spring Career Fair

More than 90 organizations, graduate and professional schools will be on campus to visit with students and alumni about career opportunities, internships and continuing education. All majors, freshman through seniors, graduate students and alumni are welcome to attend.
