On February 24th, February 25, and March 5th Habitat for Humanity is raising money for our collegiate challenge, where we will spend a week in Lakeland, Florida over Spring Break building a home for a family in need! Phi Sigma Pi will hold a food drive with proceeds going to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Drop-off boxes will be in each residence hall office, Maucker Union and Rod Library.
The Textiles & Apparel Progam (TAPP) and Infiniti Enterprises present Iowa's First Fashion Week "Rep the Runway," featuring Blu Collar Clothing. The show will feature Iowa and Cedar Valley's finest designers and performances by Lyrikal, Wes B, Prophet, Killaquay, and A Spell and Stazsa. Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.com or at the door, and are $5 with a student ID or $10. Doors open at 8 p.m.
UNI Dance Marathon will host the 3rd annual "day of" event. Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt, free entertainment and two meals. Register at www.unidancemarathon.com/register. The fundraising goal is $125,000.
Reverend Dr. John H. Womack will be traveling to the Cedar Valley to be the keynote speaker during the Black Student Union's Toast for Change Banquet. Womack will share his testimony of how in 1977, with a mop and bucket, he started his own company and named it "John's Janitorial Services, Inc." His company quickly expanded and he soon became a well-established businessman, founding and becoming president of several companies. Womack often states that money and education are not requisites to starting a business or to making it in this world; rather, it is the proper state of mind or frame of reference.

CAB Presents: Thor the Dark World. Showing at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm in the Maucker Union Ballroom.
The Tunnel of Oppression is one of our most respected and mind-opening events of the month. It is an interactive tour designed to introduce participants to the concepts of oppression, privilege and power. Participants are guided through a series of scenes that aim to educate and challenge them to think more deeply about issues of opression. At the end of the tunnel, is our Room of Hope, which allows for participants to discuss their experiences and put to use their new-found knowledge in their everyday lives.
