The Center for Multicultural Education will host comedian Preacher Moss on the "End of Racism" Comedy Tour.

90+ Organizations, graduate and professional schools will be on hand to visit with students and alumni about career opportunities, internships and continuing education. All majors, freshmen through seniors, graduate students and alumni are welcome to attend.

The Black Fraternities and Sororities, better known as the Divine 9, will present the history of their organizations and tear up the stage! They will show you how to stomp the yard!

Attend open mic night and perform your talent, whatever it is. Host for the night is poet Nicole Lyricc, who recently published a book Words Transform.

Now that you have been admitted, we invite you to campus for a day designed just for you. Whether it is your first time to campus, second, or third, UNI Up Close will give you the opportunity to explore majors, services and facilities in an in-depth format.

Enjoy a night of fashion from New York City; this night of East Coast flavor will feature Nicole Lyricc, originally from Waterloo, Iowa, who is a fashion designer and wardrobe stylist in New York City. The fashion show will be co-hosted by MTV's Making the Band member of Day 26, Que, who will also do a special performance.

The Center for Multicultural Education is sponsoring a video conference featuring Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond, the Charles Ducommon professor of education at Stanford University and co-director of the School Redesign Network. She will discuss the Waterloo and Cedar Falls school districts. Darling-Hammond is one of education’s most powerful and provocative voices. In The Flat World and Education: How America’s Commitment to Equity Will Determine Our Future, she beseeches those who care about education to wake up to the reality we truly are a “nation at risk.” For more information, visit www.uni.edu/cme.

Learn about the history of soul food and watch a soul food movie. There will be a soul food station in the Piazza dining center for dinner and late night. This event is co-sponsored by the Campus Activities Board.

PinPoint Theatres from Washington, D.C., will present a play about a family living in America and trying to survive without black inventions. Will they make it?

Darwin Week is a weeklong celebration of science and critical thought in honor of Charles Darwin's birthday. It will include four days of talks with faculty speakers during the day and a keynote each night at 7:00 pm. The themes for each day include Skepticism, Sexuality, Diversity, and Origins. All events are free and open to the public.
