Freedom Week
Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 03/25/2012 - 12:00amFreedom Week is a week-long initiative coordinated by Christian student organizations in partnership with the wider community. Freedom Week’s purpose is to create a movement of people committed to bringing awareness of the injustices of modern-day slavery and seeking ways to restore justice locally and globally. There will be various events throughout the week with a culminating event on Thursday, March 29 at 8 p.m. in Lang Hall's Auditorium. York Moore, who works for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and as a modern-day abolitionist, will be the guest speaker. He will speak on the issue of modern-day slavery, explaining the social, spiritual and economic forces behind it and inviting us to respond on a personal and corporate level.

Saturday Visit

There will be information sessions for both high school and transfer students. This option is intended for students who do not need individual counseling, but instead want an overview of admission requirements, academic majors, costs and campus life. After the presentation you and your family are invited to be our guests for lunch at the Piazza, one of UNI's recently renovated dining centers.
