Freedom Week
Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 03/25/2012 - 12:00amFreedom Week is a week-long initiative coordinated by Christian student organizations in partnership with the wider community. Freedom Week’s purpose is to create a movement of people committed to bringing awareness of the injustices of modern-day slavery and seeking ways to restore justice locally and globally. There will be various events throughout the week with a culminating event on Thursday, March 29 at 8 p.m. in Lang Hall's Auditorium. York Moore, who works for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and as a modern-day abolitionist, will be the guest speaker. He will speak on the issue of modern-day slavery, explaining the social, spiritual and economic forces behind it and inviting us to respond on a personal and corporate level.
