Financially, accepting your first job can be a confusing process. Private vs. public employers, benefits and salary negotiation are all factors in finding that perfect first job. Staff members from Human Resource Services will discuss what to watch for and be aware of when accepting a full-time position.
Attendees will participate in violence prevention learning followed by self-defense technique demonstrations. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
The Special Events Class and Black Student Union will host a Casino Night. Bring your friends and spend the evening playing bingo, poker and black jack. Prizes will be awarded; free and open to the public.
UNI Colleges Against Cancer holds the Relay For Life of UNI each year. All proceeds raised go directly to the American Cancer Society. There will be lots of fun activities, free food and live bands. Check out our facebook page, Relay For Life of UNI 2013.

Who needs to worry about retirement when you're in your 20s? You do! It's never too early to start planning for your financial future. This session will provide valuable information about the importance of saving early and often, as well as basic investment strategies and the types of financial vehicles that are best suited for young adults.
Public relations executive Sue O’Brien will discuss getting started and staying in a public relations career. She is a three-time Silver Anvil Award winner, with more than 20 years experience in the public relations industry. As a senior practice leader at the Minneapolis-based Exponent PR, she has created decisive programs for premium brands including Friskies PetCare, Nestlé Purina, and the Iams Company. O'Brien will share her background and how she got started in the industry, as well as how to grow and advance within the public relations industry.
Identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender can bring unique health and wellness challenges and opportunities. Listen to individuals from UNI Proud talk about their experiences and contemporary issues as LGBT individuals or allies as it relates to health and wellness. Professional staff will be available to answer questions and talk about services on campus.
The Hispanic Latino Student Union will host their annual Latino Ball. This year's theme is: "Welcome to Hollywood." There will be a photobooth and DJ playing a variety of music. All are welcome. Join us for a night full of cultural entertainment , music and friends.
