This legislative update and forum is open to students, staff, faculty, administrators and the community. Following the update,the panel will take questions from the audience. Panelists include Senators Jeff Danielson and Bill Dotzler and Representatives Walt Rogers, Sandy Salmon, Deb Berry, Bob Kressig and Anesa Kajtazovich.
Join us for a panel discussion about sexual consent, personal choice and bystander intervention. Panelists are Harry Brod, philosophy and world religions; Karen Mitchell, communication studies; Mark Rowe-Barth, wellness and recreations services; and Joan Thompson, wellness and recreation services.
The University of Northern Iowa Interfraternty Council is hosting Walk a Mile in Her Shoes in coordination with Seeds of Hope on Thursday, April 18, 2013. For this event, men will walk a mile in red high heels to raise awareness for sexual assault and gender violence. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes begins at the UNI Alumni house and ends on the top of Maucker Union.
The International Student Association (ISA) will hold a Cultural Diversity Showcase featuring different cultures represented through a range of performances and informational tables. International food will be available for sampling.
Interactive workshop: "The Role We Play: Exploring Gender and Sexual Consent through Performance." Laughter, learning and change will ensue in this creative, safe space!

Financially, accepting your first job can be a confusing process. Private vs. public employers, benefits and salary negotiation are all factors in finding that perfect first job. Staff members from Human Resource Services will discuss what to watch for and be aware of when accepting a full-time position.
Attendees will participate in violence prevention learning followed by self-defense technique demonstrations. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
The Special Events Class and Black Student Union will host a Casino Night. Bring your friends and spend the evening playing bingo, poker and black jack. Prizes will be awarded; free and open to the public.
UNI Colleges Against Cancer holds the Relay For Life of UNI each year. All proceeds raised go directly to the American Cancer Society. There will be lots of fun activities, free food and live bands. Check out our facebook page, Relay For Life of UNI 2013.
