Every Tuesday, the Student Involvement Center sends students out into the community to volunteer at various service agencies. A great way to meet new friends and make a difference. Free transportation, snacks, and shirt provided. Free shuttle leaves from Maucker Union - first shuttle: 2 p.m.-5 p.m., second shuttle: 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Sign up online.

Panther Village Dedication

Panther Village is the new home to 204 students in 1-, 2- and 4-person apartments.  The campus community and others will gather to dedicate the newest UNI residence community.  The celebration will be 3-5 p.m at Panther Village with a program at 3:15 and tours after the program.  Panther Village hallmarks include meticulous attention to quality, sustainability, comfort and convenience.

Julian Bond: "Reflections on The American Dream"

Beginning with his pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement, Julian Bond, an expert on diversity in the law, has always been on the cutting edge of social change and leadership. Legendary as the first black U.S. vice presidential nominee and former Chairman of the NAACP, Bond continues to deliver a powerful message of equality, freedom and justice with a renewed sense of relevance. There will be a meet and greet prior to the lecture from 6-6:45 p.m.; a reception following the lecture has been cancelled. This event is a signature feature of the Reaching for Higher Ground series, the theme of which this year is: "Searching for an American Dream."

Stop & Serve, a new event sponsored by the Student Involvement Center, provides brief, on-campus volunteer opportunities for students. Students have the opportunity to work on service projects focused on a variety of social issues in the community, region and nation.
