Financially, accepting your first job can be a confusing process. Private vs. public employers, benefits and salary negotiation are all factors in finding that perfect first job. Staff members from Human Resource Services will discuss what to watch for and be aware of when accepting a full-time position.
Attendees will participate in violence prevention learning followed by self-defense technique demonstrations. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
The Special Events Class and Black Student Union will host a Casino Night. Bring your friends and spend the evening playing bingo, poker and black jack. Prizes will be awarded; free and open to the public.

She is a three-time Silver Anvil Award winner, with more than 20 years experience in the public relations industry. As a senior practice leader at the Minneapolis-based Exponent PR, she has created decisive programs for premium brands including Friskies PetCare, Nestlé Purina, and the Iams Company. O'Brien will share her background and how she got started in the industry, as well as how to grow and advance within the public relations industry.
