Relay for Life is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the UNI Colleges Against Cancer chapter. The 12-hour event will raise money for cancer research. Participants will celebrate those who have beat cancer, remember those who have lost their battle and fight back so cancer no longer exists in our world. Entertainment will include a live band, bounce houses, silent auction, photo booth, contests and speeches by those who have been affected by cancer.

Darwin Week is an annual event sponsored by the UNI Freethinkers and Inquirers to promote critical thinking and reason. Faculty speakers will present at 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm February 9th and 11th; and at 12:30 pm, 2 pm, and 3:30 pm February 10th and 12th. Keynote lectures are at 7:00 pm each evening. Participiate in the UNI Out of the Darkness Campus Walk and join the effort to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy and support survivors of suicide loss. As the leader in the fight against suicide, AFSP has set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20 percent by 2025. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. with the walk beginning at 2 p.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
