Election 2012: It's Finally Over Celebration

We want to recognize all the work that students have done on different campaigns. We want to have some fun while telling funny election stories.

Join us in Maucker Union Ballroom C from 8-10 for a classy night featuring free food and beverages, a performance by Half-Masted (UNI's own improv comedy troupe!) and UNI's Jazz Band IV. Chat about the election and tell that one hilarious story about door knocking or phone banking.
This event is hosted by One Iowa at UNI, Northern Iowa Democrats, and UNI College Republicans.

Stop & Serve

NEW! Everyone has 5 minutes to give!

Stop & Serve, a new event sponsored by the Student Involvement Center, provides brief, on-campus volunteer opportunities for students. Students have the opportunity to work on service projects focused on a variety of social issues in the community, region and nation.

Students are welcome to stop by Maucker Union for however long they have to give. There is no time commitment required. All projects are easy and fun, so bring some friends, enjoy free treats and do some good for your community.

Make A Difference Day

Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of community service. Millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. UNI students will participate in various community service projects in the Cedar Valley such as Cedar River clean-up, weatherization of Washington Chapel and cleaning the Waterloo Community Garden. Register online through Oct. 24.

Meat Loaf Concert

Meat Loaf has announced dates for his fall tour, including a stop at the University of Northern Iowa

The concert is part of his Mad Mad World Tour in support of his newly released album, "Hell in a Handbasket." The singer-songwriter is perhaps best known for such tunes as "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" and "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" that have made Meat Loaf one of the top-selling recording artists of all time. His album, "Bat Out of Hell", has sold more than 43 million copies and his total album sales are in excess of 100 million.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Sept.15, at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, McLeod Center, online at www.unitix.uni.edu or by phone 319-273-4849.
