The Intent to Compete in this business plan competition is due March 28 to BCS 128. Three business plans selected from the UNI regions will compete against 12 other business plans from other regions in the state for 3 $5000 awards on May 2 in Des Moines.
Applications are being accepted for the 8 UNI students who will be selected to attend the 10th annual Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute from August 3-8, 2014. UNI tuition, room and board provided by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. Applications due March 3, 2014.
Co-curated by Dr. Elizabeth Sutton and gallery director Darrell Taylor. Students from Dr. Sutton and Hunter Capoccioni’s Avant-garde in Art and Music class will present didactic materials for each object. This exhibition features recent work by the faculty of the UNI Department of Art. Opening Reception: Tuesday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 10 am – 7 pm; Friday and Saturday, noon – 5 pm; and by appointment. Free and open to the public.

The Creative UNIversity Conference and Celebration will showcase the creative work of students and faculty in all disciplines. Events include a series of interactive panel presentations on creativity and innovation, exhibits, a maker fair and research poster presentations. Steven Tepper, Vanderbilt University, will deliver a 12:30 p.m. keynote address on the Creative Campus Initiative. We welcome everyone from the university and the general community to attend this free event. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Attendees should feel free to bring a bag lunch or to take advantage of lunch opportunities in the Maucker Union.
The Diversity Inclusion Workshop offers participants an opportunity to meet people from across campus with a community-building, highly interactive and positive skill-based approach. All students, merit staff, professional & scientific staff, administrators and faculty are invited and strongly encouraged to attend. The workshop is facilitated by the NCBI-UNI Campus Coalition Builders and sponsored by the Offices of the President, Executive Vice President & Provost, Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice President for Administration & Financial Services. Lunch is provided. Participants must pre-register and be able to attend the entire day.
