This four-day institute will offer details for designing a rigorous and challenging curriculum that includes research-based practices, differentiated instruction and scaffolding techniques to guarantee the literacy success of all students. Based on the professional work of Linda Dorn and Carla Soffos, the institute provides educators with practical resources aligned with the Iowa Core State Standards and supported by theories of self-regulation and transfer.
There will be a drop in session to ask faculty questions regarding plagiarism, citations and academic integrity. Refreshments will be available.
The “2016 Congressional Art Competition” Awards Ceremony was organized by Congressman Rod Blum. The exhibition itself will run from April 26 through May 7 in the UNI Gallery of Art Showcases. On Wed., May 4 at 7:15 p.m. Congressman Blum will address attendees. Shortly afterward, award winners and honorable mentions will be announced. Free and open to the public.

"Bridge Numbers: a Knotty Journey" will be presented by Theron J Hitchman, Julie Kirkpatrick and Tracy Wulfekuhle.
