Faculty Artist Recital: Dmitri Vorobiev, piano – Beethoven #3

PRSSA Ethics Panel

The UNI Public Relations Student Society of America will host an ethics panel, which will discuss ethics in their workplaces and answer questions. Panelists include: Nola Aigner, UNI and PRSSA alumnae, who works for the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health; Janine Whipps, co-owner of Morgan&Myers public relations firm; Mark Ryan, business professor at Hawkeye Community College and previous general manager with Waterloo Industries; and Joe Shannahan, partner at LS2 Group in West Des Moines. Guest Artist Recital: Julia Heinen, clarinet

Visiting artist Julia Heinen will present a clarinet recital. Heinen currently serves as professor of clarinet at California State University, Northridge. As a soloist, Julia Heinen has performed hundreds of concertos and recitals around the world including recent performances in El Salvador, the Czech Republic and Portugal. She has had the distinct pleasure of premiering and recording several works written specifically for her and currently is recording a CD featuring 6 works new works scheduled to be released in 2011 on the Parma Label. This event is free and open to the public.

"Still Looking (After All These Years): Portrait Paintings and Drawings, 1966-2011"

Featuring the work of University of Iowa professor emeritus Joseph Patrick, the exhibition represents a selection of paintings and drawings from the past forty-five years of art practice carried out in Iowa City, Iowa, Mérida, Venezuela, and Oaxaca, Mexico. An artist’s gallery talk will be presented at 7 p.m., Mon., Sept. 26 in the gallery. An opening reception will follow.
