To mark the 50^th anniversary of the trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, the film “The Trial of Adolf Eichmann” will be shown on Wednesday, October 12, at 7:00 p.m., and again on Monday, October 24, at 7:00 p.m., in Room 2, Sabin Hall.  These screenings are free and open to the public.  For more information, contact chge@uni.edu or go to www.uni.edu/chge

Gregory Bruess, Department of History, will present "The Greek Passion:  Individual Martyrdom and National Salvation at a Greek Civil War Memorial."  The event is free and open to the public.

The Tallgrass Prairie Center will hold an open house to showcase the new renovation and building expansion.  The Center is located on the western edge of campus, at 2412 W. 27th St., west of Hudson Road.  This event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.

The Graduate College presents “Thinking About Graduate School (TAGS),” an event for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a graduate or professional degree. TAGS will consist of a presentation explaining graduate application processes, a question and answer session with a panel of current graduate students and professors, and an information fair of UNI graduate programs. The UNI Concert Chorale and Women's Chorus, under the direction of Dyan Meyer, will offer a shared fall concert with the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Rebecca Burkhardt. Honoring the memory of ten years since 9/11, the concert will feature a special performance of the piece "On the Transmigration of Souls" by John Adams and is part of the Reaching for Higher Ground series for 2011-2012. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Mary Skopec, Iowa DNR,  will provide a historical perspective of Iowa's water quality including the main drivers and forces that have resulted in our current water quality situation.

Visiting artists Nicole Esposito, flute and Michel Bellavance, flute, will present a duo recital. A charismatic and versatile flutist, Nicole Esposito is the flute professor at The University of Iowa. She has achieved a career as a soloist, teacher, chamber and orchestral musician on an international level having been a featured across the United States, Europe, Central and South America. Bellevance is a Meridian Records artist who has appeared at festivals in Switzerland, the United States and South America, on radio broadcasts for the CBC, the Radio Suisse Romande and National Public Radio (USA), and has given recitals in cities such as Prague, Barcelona, Geneva and more. This event is free and open to the public.
