Based on the acclaimed book by ecologist and cancer survivor Sandra Steingraber, Living Downstream is an eloquent and cinematic documentary.  The film follows Sandra during one pivital year as she travels across North America, working to break the silence about cancer and its environmental links.

The North American Review (NAR), published at the University of Northern Iowa, hosts its second annual writing festival. Participants will choose two one-hour sessions (5:30-6:30 and 6:30-7:30) to attend. A question and answer session with the editorial staff of the NAR will be held from 7:30-8:30. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

International Education Week (IEW), Nov. 14-18, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. A special kick-off ceremony will include a welcome from Nadia Korobova, assistant director of international programs; keynote speaker Nicholas Chizek; remarks from Gloria Gibson, executive vice president and provost; as well as dance and musical performances, appetizers and refreshments. Several focus groups will be held November 7-11 as part of the Town Hall residency by Sojurn and TEAM theatre companies to explore the Iowa Caucus process.
