Northern Festival of Bands
Submitted by music on Thu, 02/09/2012 - 2:00amThe Northern Festival of Bands, an annual band festival for high school band students, which typically hosts over 40 schools and over 250 individual students, will be held February 9-11, 2012. The event will feature performances by the UNI Wind Symphony and UNI Symphonic Band on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. as well as Saturday afternoon’s 2 p.m. performance featuring solo competition winners, the festival’s percussionist groups, Festival Concert Band and Festival Symphony Band. The Friday concert for this event is free and open to the public. The Saturday concert for this event is ticketed. For tickets, call (319) 273-4TIX. For more information, call (319) 273-2028.

Jacob Galle, Nestor Armando Gil, Jiawei Gong, Hillerbrand + Magsamen, Jeanne Jo, Kyoung Eun Kang, Jordan McKenzie, Takeshi Moro, Jennifer Seibert, Gary Setzer, Bradly Dever Treadaway and Jordan Tynes. Lecture: How the Brain Lies and Misrepresents the "Real World"

MacLin provides workshops for jurors and because of research across the country like his, the New Jersey Supreme Court last fall, acknowledging a “troubling lack of reliability in eyewitness identifications,” issued sweeping new rules for such evidence in criminal cases.
