Spotlight on STEM Day is a showcase of innovative activities presented by K-12 teachers and their students. This event provides UNI preservice teachers with an opporutnity to discuss how to implement hands-on, project-based, STEM activities with the teachers and students who are successfully doing it.
Teachers and students across Iowa, along with UNI faculty, will showcase their work through displays, demonstrations and presentations. They will discuss the challenges and successes of integrating technology, science, mathematics and engineering into the classroom while still meeting their school's need to increase student achievement.

9:00-9:30 Closed Gallery - Visiting students and teachers view each others displays
9:30-11:30 Open Gallery - UNI students, faculty, staff and the public visit displays - visit one or all, see demostrations and participate in interactive exhibits
11:30-1:30 Lunch Break - Visiting students participate in lunch program highlighting UNI STEM programs and activities
1:30-3:30 Concurrent Presentations - open to students, faulty, staff and the public - K-12 students and their teachers present projects in 20-minute sessions
3:30 Closing Message and door prizes
Participants should begin at the information booth outside Room 120, ITTC. All public activities take place in the ITTC. Free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
